About
The mission of FabLab Western Sicily is to train young people to be creators. One of out projects is the Teens4Kids (T4K) project, which offers an out-of-the-box solution to rethink education in the digital era so that our students can feel ‘digital creators’ rather than passive users of technology. In the project, teenagers teach kids with a peer-to-peer approach and are based on the state-of-the-art academic research on creative pedagogy. The T4K curricula make use of digital fabrication solutions such as laser cutting, 3D printing, and electronics to teach technology in a creative way and stimulate '21st-century skills', such as creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving. All courses are implemented in Sicily: one of the least developed regions in the EU.
