FAST journal selection

General rules

In general FAST supports journals that provide:

• Open access publication - ideally platinum OA (free to write and read)
• Are the closest to our particular study (e.g. we cite a lot in it)
• Journals that foster rapid review
• Publishing in higher impact factor journals for students pursuing academia

Western Provides APC waivers

The full list for Western is here: https://www.lib.uwo.ca/scholarship/oasupport.html The most common useful publishers with 100% APC waivers include:

• Cambridge U Press - currently publish more than 380 peer-reviewed academic journals covering subjects across the humanities, social sciences and science, technology and medicine.
• IOP - mainly physics
• Public Library of Science - PLOS one, Water, Sustainability, Med
• Sage - most everything
