Depleted uranium

Depleted uranium, or DU, is uranium remaining after removal of the isotope uranium-235 (which is used in fission reactions. It is a waste product of the uranium enrichment process. It is primarily composed of the isotope uranium-238. It is a toxic and radioactive heavy metal, therefore it can be dangerous and should be disposed of properly. It has a number of uses in the weapons industry.
